Ever heard of the term xenoestrogens? Well, now you have. A xenoestrogen is a substance that has estrogenic effects when it enters the body. Using a new technique developed by Italian scientists, two previously unknown xenoestrogens were discovered: propyl gallate and 4-hexylresorcinol.

Propyl gallate is commonly found in vegetable oil, gum, meat products, and canned chicken soup. You will generally find 4-hexylresorcinol used as an anti-browing agent for shrimp and other shellfish. Read more.
