The donkey calf raise can be performed on a donkey calf raise machine, or with a fellow lifter sitting on your lower back.
Place your feet on a block, or on the edge of the machine’s platform. You want your toes and the balls of your feet to be positioned so you have ample room to push your body up. With your knees straight, or slightly bent but locked, press your feet down upon the block or platform so that you are raising your body up. Focus on pushing and contracting with the calves. After you reach peak contraction, gently lower your heels back down, and repeat.
