Begin by attaching a wide grip bar to the lat pulldown machine and then adjust the knee pads so your legs will fit underneath of them comfortably. Sit down facing the machine and make sure that your feet are planted flat on the floor with your knees under the pads. Reach up and grab the bar with a grip that is slightly wider than shoulder width with your palms facing away from you. Now, pull the bar straight down behind your head until it almost touches the back of your neck. Then, slowly return the weight back to the starting position.
This exercise may place more stress on your shoulders, and it takes flexibility in order to complete this exercise without discomfort.
