A 2 or 3 board press is performed in the same manner as a standard bench press.
Have a spotter place a 2 or 3 board thickness on your chest, comfortably within the downward pressing plane so that you do not roll the barbell off the boards upon lowering the bar. Lower the bar until it touches the boards, and then press the bar up until your arms are locked.
As the 2 or 3 board press is used to improve bench press lockout strength from varying heights, many lifters will bounce the barbell slightly off the boards to gain momentum. This is not advised unless you are an experienced lifter.
